Graduated from the CNSMD in Paris in violin, generative improvisation, and pedagogy (DE and CA), Elsa Moatti also studied at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.

          Elsa Moatti is involved in the world of creation and improvisation, with the ensembles L’Itinéraire, Miroirs Etendus, the Orchestre National de Jazz and the improvisers’ collective La-Croche-et-le-Marteau which she helped to found. In baroque music she performs with Le Consort, La Clique des Lunaisiens, Les Talens Lyriques, and in the field of musical shows she joined Le Concert Idéal directed by Marianne Piketty. As a soloist, she has performed under the direction of Léo Margue, Gaël Péron and Johan Farjot. She forms a duo with the pianist Suzanne Ben Zakoun, playing a repertoire ranging from classical to improvisation, and founded the Trio Hémisphères in 2018 with the accordeonist Théo Ould and the double bassist Pierre-Antoine Despatures.

          She is involved in the world of theater in particular with the director Xavier Lemaire in the show Madame Ming, as composer, performer and actress. She participated in the OpusOne Academy of L’Itinéraire in 2022 with the creation of her trio Rêvières. The same year she released her first album Exiles (Klarthe label), acknowledged in particular by Le Monde (portrait and selection among the favorite CDs 2022), Classica, ClassiqueNews, and leading her to the "Matinale de France Musique".

          Since 2018, she has been teaching violin at the Maurice Ravel Conservatory in the 13th arrondissement of Paris.
